During initial appointments, we will aim to identify the exact cause of pain or restriction related to hand and wrist injuries through a comprehensive subjective assessment and a detailed physical examination. Following this evaluation, appropriate musculoskeletal treatment will be provided to alleviate symptoms. Additionally, a personalised rehabilitation program will be issued when suitable, helping individuals self-manage their symptoms and prevent future onset, particularly in cases of sports injuries. Techniques such as shockwave therapy may also be incorporated into the physiotherapy plan to enhance recovery.

Claire has over 20 years of experience in musculoskeletal treatment, specifically focusing on treating musculoskeletal injuries. She has worked in various settings, including elite sports teams, multidisciplinary sports medicine companies, and within the NHS. Her expertise includes lower limb rehabilitation, specifically in multi-ligament knee reconstructions such as ACL, PCL, MCL, and LCL, as well as meniscal injuries. Additionally, she has a keen interest in treating hand and wrist injuries.
Claire balances her professional life with raising her two young children and currently sees patients on a part-time basis in Oxted, alongside her work at Acer House Practice in Farningham, where she also incorporates physiotherapy techniques and shockwave therapy for sports injuries.
She also has extensive experience in treating patients post-surgery, including total knee and hip replacements, fracture stabilisation and ligament reconstructions
We offer specialist custom made splinting for hand and wrist injuries.
Examples of when a splint may be issued includes following a fracture or joint dislocation, for carpal tunnel syndrome, dequervains tendinopathy, thumb osteoarthritis and after surgery.
